A: In the case of the Save to Turnitin DB option, your paper will be exposed to other Turnitin users during similarity test. (However, saving does not mean that the entire original text will be published.)

  • Q: How long does it take to get the test results after submitting the paper file?
A: Depending on the state of the server, it may take at least 1-10 minutes and up to 24 hours. The more papers you have, the longer it takes. You can check the progress by pressing Reload key. (F5)
The server is processing and will continue when you log out.

  • Q: I did a similarity test to submit my dissertation, but the similarity was high. Is there any problem when submitting it?
A: There are no criteria for thesis similarity and thesis review presented in the Library and Turnitin.
Please contact your department’s administration office or professor in charge and submit it according to the department regulations.

A: If the similarity % is high, it can be suspected as a plagiarism paper, but on the contrary, if you plagiarize someone else’s creation without quotation or source even if the similarity % is low compared to the text.
Since plagiarism prevention test program (Turnitin) alone cannot determine plagiarism, there is no standard for passing confirmation by %.
Even if the similarity % is low, it is recommended that you double-check and correct the text checked.

  • Q: How do I exclude references from the results of similarity tests?
A: You can exclude references, citations, etc. through the filter menu(funnel-shaped) on the right side of the results page.
