Interlibrary Loan (ILL) Service Guidelines
ILL Cost Support Limits
- Faculty : Up to 120 requests per year (domestic and international combined)
- Graduate Students (currently enrolled or equivalent status):
- Up to 15 domestic requests per semester
- Up to 15 international requests per semester
- Staff:
- Up to 15 domestic requests per semester
- Up to 15 international requests per semester
- Undergraduate Students (currently enrolled):
- Up to 5 domestic requests per semester
Maximum Number of Active Requests
- Domestic Partner Libraries: Up to 2 items
- RISS Partner Libraries: Up to 3 items
- International Partner Libraries: Up to 15 items
Additional requests may be submitted after previously borrowed materials have been returned.
Important Notes
- Interlibrary Loan service is available only for books (monographs). Other materials, including journals, theses/dissertations, e-books, and similar resources, are not eligible.
- Materials owned by any Korea University library (including Science Library, Sejong Campus Library, and Medical Library) cannot be requested through Interlibrary Loan.
- Renewal of loan periods is not permitted for Interlibrary Loan materials.
- Overdue fines will be charged for late returns. Cash payment only is accepted; bank transfers are not available.
- Once the funding support limit is exhausted, all Interlibrary Loan-related costs must be paid by the user.
- Users who fail to check out requested materials after submitting a request may have their Interlibrary Loan privileges restricted for the remainder of the semester.
- Materials borrowed from the National Library of Korea and Waseda University Library are available for in-library use only and cannot be checked out.

Document Delivery Service (DDS) Guidelines
DDS Cost Support Limits
- Faculty and Staff: Up to 120 domestic and international requests per year
- Graduate Students (currently enrolled or equivalent status):
- Domestic requests: Full copying costs for journal articles are covered by the library.
(Copying costs for theses/dissertations and book chapters must be paid by the user.) - International requests: Up to 15 requests per semester, regardless of material type (counted per article request).
- Domestic requests: Full copying costs for journal articles are covered by the library.
- Undergraduate Students (currently enrolled):
- Eligible to use the Document Delivery Service, but not eligible for library-funded cost support.
Important Notes
- Requests may only be submitted for materials that are not held by Korea University Libraries and are not available in full text online.
- Domestic and international requests are determined by the location of the holding institution.
- International document delivery requests typically require 1–3 weeks for processing and delivery.
- If charges apply, users will be notified individually.
Payment must be made in cash; credit cards and bank transfers are not accepted. - Failure to collect delivered materials within one month of notification may result in suspension of library borrowing privileges.
