Author Introduction
마르쿠스 가브리엘(지은이)
1980년에 태어나 철학, 고전 문헌학, 현대 독일 문학을 공부했다. 사상 최연소인 29세로 독일 본대학교 정교수로 취임해 현재 철학과에서 인식론과 근현대 철학을 강의하고 있다. 그는 서양 철학 전통에 뿌리를 두고 ‘새로운 실재론’을 제창함으로써 세계적으로 주목받았으며, ‘신실존주의’, ‘새로운 계몽’ 등 새로운 개념을 소개하고, NHK ETV 〈욕망 시대의 철학〉 등에 출연했다. 그의 저서 《왜 세계는 존재하지 않는가》는 세계 여러 나라에서 베스트셀러가 되었으며, 《예술의 힘》, 《생각이란 무엇인가》, 《왜 세계사의 시간은 거꾸로 흐르는가》, 《초예측, 부의 미래》(공저), 《나는 뇌가 아니다》, 《신화, 광기 그리고 웃음》(공저) 등이 있다.
