Abstract
2020년 3월, 코로나 바이러스의 확산으로 인해 영국의 방역당국은 프로축구 경기의 관중 입장을 제한했다. 이와 같은 조치로 인해 같은 기간, 영국의 프로축구 리그 경기의 홈 팀 승률이 관중 입장 제한이 없었을 때에 비해 크게 낮아졌다. 본 논문에서는 관중 입장이 축구 경기에 결과에 미치는 영향을 순서형 프로빗(Ordered Probit) 모형을 활용하여 분석했다. 그 결과, 관중 입장이 경기 결과에 미치는 영향이 통계적으로 유의했다.
In March 2020, due to Covid-19, the UK Government announced that supporters of Premier League teams could attend the Stadiums. Such a measure greatly lowered the home team's winning probability compared to when there was no restriction on spectators' admission. In this paper, the effect of attendance on the results of football games was analyzed using an Ordered Probit model. As a result, the effect of attendance on the games was statistically significant.
