할 브랜즈(지은이)
존스홉킨스대학교 고등국제문제연구소의 국제관계학 교수이자 미국기업연구소 선임 연구원이다. 블룸버그 오피니언의 칼럼니스트이기도 하다. 2015년부터 2016년까지 미 국방부 전략기획담당 특별보좌관을 지냈고, 미국 국방전략위원회의 수석필자를 맡았으며, 정보 및 국가안보 분야의 다양한 정부기관 및 기구에 자문하고 있다. 《트럼프 시대의 미국 대전략American Grand Strategy in the Age of Trump》, 《단극의 순간 만들기Making the Unipolar Moment》, 《대전략이란 무엇인가What Good is Grand Strategy?》, 《라틴 아메리카의 냉전Latin America’s Cold War》, 《베를린에서 바그다드까지From Berlin to Baghdad》, 《과거의 패권국The Power of the Past》, 《마지막 카드》, 《비극의 교훈The Lessons of Tragedy》, 《코로나 팬데믹과 세계 질서COVID-19 and World Order》 등의 저서를 쓰거나 편집했다.
마이클 베클리(지은이)
터프츠대학교 정치학 부교수이자 미국기업연구소의 방문 연구원이다. 하버드대학교 케네디 행정대학원, 미 국방부, 랜드연구소, 카네기 국제평화재단 등에서 일했고, 미국 정부의 정보기관과 미 국방부에 자문하고 있다. 강대국 패권 경쟁에 관한 연구로 미국 정치학회와 국제관계학회로부터 수상했다. 《파이낸셜타임스》, 《포린어페어스》, 《포린폴리시》, 《뉴욕타임스》, 《워싱턴포스트》 등 여러 언론 매체에 출연하거나 기고했다. 지은 책으로는 《미국이 세계 유일의 초강대국으로 남게 되는 이유Why America Will Remain the World’s Sole Superpower》가 있다.
