Francine Shapiro(지은이)
EMDR의 창시자이자 개발자이며, 미국 캘리포니아 주 팔로알토에 있는 정신연구소(Mental Research Institute)의 수석특별연구원이다. 비영리 조직단체인 EMDR 인도주의 조력 프로그램의 설립자이자 명예회장으로서, 전 세계에서 발생하는 재난에 대한 염려반응을 듣고 그들을 돕기 위한 무료 훈련을 조정하는 역할을 한다. 그녀는 광범위하고 다양한 외상치료와 원조단체 및 저널의 고문으로서 진력해 왔으며, 미국심리학회와 PTSD 미국심리사회 프레지덴셜 토론회의 2개 지부를 포함한 많은 주요 심리학회에서 EMDR에 관한 초청연사이기도 하다. Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, EMDR, EMDR and the Paradigm Prism 등 EMDR에 관한 수많은 연구물과 책을 발표하였다. 캘리포니아심리학회에서 수여하는 Distinguished Scientific Achievement in Psychology Award, 비엔나 시에서 수여하는 International Sigmund Freud Award for Psychotherapy 상을 받았다.
