Book Introduction

학생들의 읽기 능력을 어떻게 하면 키울 수 있을까? 이 책은 특정 대상의 학습자에 한정하지 않고, 중학교에서 고등학교까지 여러 층의 학습자를 대상으로 읽기 지도 방안을 제시하고 있다. 중학교와 인문계 고등학교에서의 읽기 교육, 특성화 고등학교에서의 읽기 교육을 다루면서 한 학기 한 권 읽기의 독서 교육, 문학 읽기 수업, 비문학 읽기 수업, 대입 문제풀이식 읽기 수업 등 현재 국어 교실에서 이루어지고 있는 읽기 교육 전반에 대해 촘촘하게 다루고 있다.

최근 우리 학생들의 문해력이 심심찮게 이야기되고 있다. 문해력(文解力)은 한자의 뜻으로 보면 글을 해석, 이해할 수 있는 능력이다. 영어로는 ‘리터러시(literacy)’라고 한다. ‘문식성’으로도 일컫는 문해력은 보통 글에 담긴 의미를 이해하는 읽기 능력을 말한다. 글의 내용을 이해하는 능력은 국어 교과를 포함한 모든 교과에서 요구되는 기본적인 학습 능력이다.
이러한 학생들의 읽기 능력을 어떻게 하면 키울 수 있을까? 이 책은 특정 대상의 학습자에 한정하지 않고, 중학교에서 고등학교까지 여러 층의 학습자를 대상으로 읽기 지도 방안을 제시하고 있다. 중학교와 인문계 고등학교에서의 읽기 교육, 특성화 고등학교에서의 읽기 교육을 다루면서 한 학기 한 권 읽기의 독서 교육, 문학 읽기 수업, 비문학 읽기 수업, 대입 문제풀이식 읽기 수업 등 현재 국어 교실에서 이루어지고 있는 읽기 교육 전반에 대해 촘촘하게 다루고 있다.
