The world economy witnessed a surge in non-tariff measures, to affect international trade, as new trade-restrictive measures and a diminished power of tariffs through regional trade agreements, in the contrary. As global tariff rates have been reduced, trade policy research has focused on better understanding the direction and magnitude of the trade effects of NTMs. Trade is strongly linked to SDGs regarding health protection, environment, climate change, and safety and NTMs are essential in attaining the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.  As all countries are seeking to formulate better plans to achieve the SDGs through sustainable trade, this paper examines the economic effects of NTMs linking SDGs by using concordance matrix developed by UNESCAP on international trade between ASEAN and Korea in vehicles industry (HS87), which still accounts for a good portion of Korea’s exports to ASEAN during 2005-2020 as well as in all food industry (HS02-22) that directly affects the quality of life. 
The result of the empirical analysis using gravity model framework revealed the effects of NTMs vary by sector. SDG3_NTMs are having insignificant impact on trade activities but having promoting effects on trade performance in the food industry between ASEAN and Korea, which states that ASEAN is trying to achieve both sustainable development and boost trade using positive effects of NTMs.
