초록

This study aims to demonstrate how advanced standards and ethics can be imported into Korea by comparing the current condition of sports human rights in Korea with those in the United States, based on international standards, in order to promote the human rights of Korean athletes. This is due to the fact that legislation and promotion of human rights for athletes can be attained if international human rights standards are effectively implemented in Korea. Existing research have limitations in this regard due to the fact that human rights perceptions in Korea and other nations have not been compared within the context of international human rights standards. Therefore, this study provides a summary of the international organizations' sports-related human rights standards and an analysis of the United States' compliance with these standards. In addition, it contrasts the Center for Safe Sports U.S.A. with the Sports Ethics Center in Korea and sports-related regulations. This comparison will serve as a stepping stone for Korea to apply the examples of the United States, which understands the unique sphere of sports and adheres closely to international human rights standards.
