올리비에 블랜차드(엮은이)

블랜차드는 프랑스인으로 미국 케임브리지에서 직업 생활의 대부분을 보냈다. 1977년 MIT에서 경제학을 전공한 그는 1982년 하버드대학교에서 MIT로 돌아왔다. 1998년부터 2003년까지 경제학과장을 역임하였다. 2008년에는 IMF의 연구부서를 이끌었고, 2015년 10월부터 워싱턴 소재 피터슨 국제경제연구소(Peterson Institute for International Economics)에서 Fred Bergsten Senior Fellow로 활동하고 있다. 그는 또한 MIT의 Robert M.Solow명예교수로 남아 있다. 그는 통화정책의 역할에서부터 투기거품의 속성, 노동시장의 성격과 실업의 결정요인, 과거 공산국가의 이행 그리고 글로벌 위기의 배경까지 다양한 거시경제 문제를 연구해 왔다. 이 과정에서 그는 여러 국가 및 국제기구와 협력해 왔다. 그는 피셔(Stanley Fischer)와 함께 저술한 대학원 교과서를 포함해서 많은 책과 논문을 저술하였다. 그는 Quarterly Journal of Economics와 NBER Macroeconomics Annual의 편집장이었으며, AEJ Macroeconomics의 설립 편집장이었다. 그는 Econometric Society의 회원이자 위원이며, American Economic Association의 부회장직을 역임했고 American Academy of Sciences의 회원이다.
