캐릴 에머슨(지은이)
프린스턴대학교 왓슨 아머 III 대학A. Watson Armour III University 슬라브언어문학과 명예교수다. 《대화적 상상력: 네 편의 에세이》(1982), 《발화 장르와 기타 후기 에세이》(1986) 등 바흐친의 대표 저술을 영어로 번역·출판하여 영미권 학계의 바흐친 연구에 결정적 영향을 미쳤다. 지은 책으로는 《보리스 고두노프: 러시아적 주제의 전위》(1986), 《무소르그스키의 인생》(1999), 《바흐친의 처음 백 년》(2000), 《겸손한 무소르그스키와 보리스 고두노프: 신화, 현실, 재고》(2006) 등이 있다.
