저자소개

리처드 H. 스미스(엮은이)

켄터키 대학교 심리학 교수로 재직 중이다. 브라운 대학교에서 영문학을 전공하고 노스 캐롤라이나 대학교에서 사회심리학 박사 학위를 받았다. 타인의 고통을 즐기는 감정인 ‘샤덴프로이데(schadenfreude)’에 대한 실험을 고안하고 연구했으며 질투와 수치심, 경외감 같은 다양한 사회적 감정에 대한 논문을 쓰기도 했다. 한국인 사회심리학자 김성희와 결혼하여 슬하에 두 딸을 두었다. 이 책의 본문에 등장하는 삽화는 모두 큰딸이 직접 그린 것이다.
