마크 엡스타인(지은이)

정신과 전문의. 심리학자. 하버드 대학에서 의학을 공부하고 학위를 받았다. 의대에 다니던 20대 초부터 불교에 관심을 가지고 심리학과 명상에 대한 공부를 병행해 왔다. 뉴욕에서 정신과의사로 환자들을 진료하면서 불교와 심리 치료에 관한 연구와 임상을 토대로 여러 권의 책을 썼다. 대표적인 저서로 《트라우마 사용설명서(The Trauma of Everyday Life)》,《붓다와 프로이트(Psychotherapy without the self)》,《붓다의 심리학(Thoughts without a Thinker)》, 《절망하지 않고 무너지기(Going to Pieces Without Falling Apart)》 등이 있다.
