Author Introduction
에르네스토 라클라우(지은이)
아르헨티나 출신 정치이론가로 부에노스아이레스 대학에서 역사학을 전공한 후, 영국 에섹스 대학에서 정치학 박사 학위를 받았다. 이후 에섹스 대학 정치학과 교수로 있으면서 ‘에섹스 학파’로 불리는 ‘이데올로기와 담론 분석 과정’을 지도하고 인문사회과학연구소를 운영하며 많은 연구 활동을 전개했다. 특히 아르헨티나의 페론주의와 포퓰리즘에 대한 연구를 꾸준히 이어가면서 기존 서구 정치사상의 근본 틀을 비판하고 포스트-마르크스주의의 새로운 이론적 지평을 개척했다. 현재는 은퇴 후 여러 대학에서 강연 활동을 펼치고 있다. 주요 저작으로는 New Reflections on the Revolution of Our Time(1997), Emancipation(s)(2007), 그리고 On Populist Reason(2007)(후마니타스 근간), Politics and Ideology in Marxist Theory: Capitalism, Fascism, Populism(2012) 등이 있다.
