저자소개
바비 젤리저(지은이)
미국 펜실베이니아 대학교 안넨버그 커뮤니케이션 스쿨의 교수로 재직하고 있다. 이전에 저널리스트로 활동했던 젤리저는 Remembering to Forget: Holocaust Memory Through the Camera’s Eye(1998), Covering the Body: The Kennedy Assassination, the Media, and the Shaping of Collective Memory(1992), Journalism After September 11(Stuart Allan 공저, 2002) 등을 포함하여 7권의 책을 집필했다. 이 중 일부는 권위 있는 학회가 수여하는 저술상을 수상했다. 젤리저는 또한 구겐하임 펠로십, 자유포럼센터 연구 펠로십, 하버드 대학교 조앤 쇼렌스타인 언론·정치·공공정책센터 펠로십을 받았고, 미디어 비평가로도 활동 중이다. 그녀의 연구는 신문 ≪네이션≫과 ≪뉴스데이≫, 그리고 미국 공영방송 PBS의 <짐 러너 뉴스 시간>과 호주의 <라디오 내셔널> 등에 소개되기도 했다. 젤리저는 현재 사진과 저널리즘의 소멸 위기에 관한 책을 쓰고 있다.
