저자소개
테사 모리스 스즈키(지은이)
1951년 영국에서 태어나 브리스톨 대학에서 러시아 역사를 배운 후 바스 대학에서 일본 경제사 연구로 박사학위를 받았다. 현재 오스트레일리아 국립대학교 태평양아시아학부 교수로 재직 중이며 아시아 관련 네트워크를 이끌면서 일본과 아시아 연구를 주도하고 있다. 경제사뿐 아니라 탈근대와 탈식민지화의 관점에서 민중의 기억과 경험을 담아내는 연구로 명성을 얻었다. 현지를 여행하면서 사람들과 직접 대화하고 그 지역 고유의 자료와 사료를 발굴함으로써 국가와 지역의 틀을 초월한 역사를 새롭게 조명했다. 『우리 안의 과거』 『북한행 엑서더스』 『봉인된 디아스포라』 『변경에서 바라본 근대』 『일본의 아이덴티티를 묻는다』 『일본의 경제사상』 『바다를 건너간 위안부』(공저) 『확장하는 모더니티』(공저)가 우리말로 번역 출간되었다.
