워드 체니(지은이)
리하이 대학교에서 학사 과정을 마치고 캔자스 대학교에서 박사 학위를 받았다. 텍사스 대학교 오스틴 캠퍼스에서 수학과 교수로 재직했으며 수치해석학, 근사이론의 선구자 중 한명이다. 그의 유명한 저서로는 『An Introduction to Approximation Theory』, 『Numerical Analysis : Mathematics of Scientific Computing』 등이 있다.
