Author Introduction
모리스 블랑쇼(지은이)
1907년 프랑스 켕 출생, 2003년 이블린에서 사망. 젊은 시절 몇 년간 저널리스트로 활동한 것 이외에는 평생 모든 공식 활동으로부터 물러나 글쓰기에 전념했다. 작가이자 사상가로서 철학·문학비평·소설의 영역에서 방대한 양의 글을 남겼다. 문학의 영역에서는 말라르메를 전후로 하는 거의 모든 전위적 문학의 흐름에 대해 깊고 독창적인 성찰을 보여 주었고, 또한 후기에는 철학적 시론과 픽션의 경계를 뛰어넘는 독특한 스타일의 문학작품을 창조했다. 철학의 영역에서 그는 존재의 한계·부재에 대한 급진적 사유를 대변하고 있으며, 한 세대 이후의 여러 사상가들에게 큰 영향을 주는 동시에 그들과 적지 않은 점에서 여러 문제들을 공유했다. 주요 저서로 『토마 알 수 없는 자』, 『죽음의 선고』, 『원하던 순간에』, 『문학의 공간』, 『도래할 책』, 『무한한 대화』, 『우정』, 『저 너머로의 발걸음』, 『카오스의 글쓰기』, 『나의 죽음의 순간』 등이 있다.
