헨리 채드윅(지은이)
케임브리지 대학을 졸업하고 케임브리지 대학과 옥스퍼드 대학의 교수와 학장을 지냈다. 영국·미국·프랑스 학술원 회원이며, 1989년에 기사 작위를 받기도 했다. 교회사 분야에 살아 있는 전설로 불린다.저서로 『초대 교회사』, 『초대 기독교 사상과 고전 전통』, 『아빌라의 프리스킬리아니스투스파』, 『보이티우스: 음악과 논리, 신학과 철학의 위안』 등이 있다. 또한 아우구스티누스의 『고백록』에 주석을 달아 편찬하기도 했다.
