빈센트 라이언 루기에로(지은이)
뉴욕 주립대학교 델리 캠퍼스의 명예교수. 산업공학자 겸 사업가로 일하다가 교직에 뛰어들어 30년 넘게 수많은 학생들을 가르쳤다. 훌륭한 생각은 천재들만 할 수 있다고 믿는 학생들이 안타까워 생각, 사고 훈련과 관련된 여러 책을 쓰고 텔레비전 프로그램을 제작하는 등 많은 노력을 기울였다. 훈련만 하면 누구든 훌륭한 생각을 할 수 있다는 저자의 주장은 수많은 독자들에게 용기를 주었고, 대부분의 저서가 출간된 지 30~40여 년이 흘렀음에도 불구하고 수차례 개정을 거듭하며 지금까지도 많은 이들의 사랑을 받고 있다. 저서로 《수사학의 요소》(1971),《윤리적 이슈에 관해 비판적으로 생각하기》(1973, 현재 8판 발행),《감정 너머: 비판적 사고를 위한 지침》(1975, 현재 9판 발행),《생각의 완성》(1984),《비판적 사고자가 되는 법》(1989, 현재 7판 발행) 등이 있다.《생각의 완성》은 현재 10판까지 발행되었다. 저자 홈페이지 http://www.mindpower-inc.com/about.html
