Author Introduction
데이비드 버킹엄(지은이)
청소년 미디어, 어린이와 청소년의 미디어 이용, 미디어 교육, 미디어 교육 정책 등을 연구해 온 세계적인 학자이자 저술가이자 컨설턴트다. 25건이 넘는 연구 프로젝트 책임을 맡았고, 영국 내외 여러 기관의 미디어 교육 정책 자문 위원으로 일했다. 런던대학교 교육연구소 교수, 런던대학교 아동·청소년 및 미디어 연구소 소장, 러프버러대학교 미디어 및 커뮤니케이션학과 교수직을 역임했다. 현재는 러프버러대학교 명예 교수이자 서식스대학교 객원 교수, 노르웨이어린이연구소 객원 교수다. 『우리 아이들은 어떻게 소비자로 키워지는가』(2013)를 비롯해 30여 권의 저서를 집필했고, 220편 이상의 논문과 및 단행본 챕터를 저술했다. 홈페이지(www.davidbuckingham.net)를 통해서도 저술 활동을 활발히 이어 가고 있다.
