찰스 틸리(지은이)

1958년 하버드에서 사회학 박사학위를 취득한 후 델라웨어대학, 하버드대학, 토론토대학, 미시간대학, New School for Social Research 대학에서 강의하였다. 현재 컬럼비아대학 사회학과의 조셉 버튼와이져(Joseph L. Buttenwieser) 석좌교수로 재직 중이다. 최근에 저술한 책으로는 Economic and Political Contention in Comparative Perspective (Maria Kousis와 공동편집, 2005), Trust and Rule (2005), Popular Contention in Great Britain, 1758-1834 (2005), Identities, Boundaries, and Social Ties (2005), Why? (2006), the Oxford Handbook of Contextual Political Analysis (Robert Goodin와 공저, 2006), Contentious Politics (Sidney Tarrow와 공저, 2006), and Regimes and Repertoires (2006) 등이 있다.
