존 개스틸(지은이)
현 펜실베이니아주립대학교 정치학과, 전 워싱턴대학교 커뮤니케이션학과 교수. 권위와 리더십의 차이 및 민주적 리더십의 기능 등에 대한 이론을 정리했다. 다수의 시민 컨퍼런스를 주최하고 정치 캠페인을 조직했으며 시민 배심원 회의의 영향력, 정치 문화와 숙의의 관계, 그룹 의사결정의 사회적 심리적 특성 등을 연구했다. 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션 게임인 ‘투표하는 날’ 제작자이기도 하다. 저서로 《소그룹의 민주주의 Democracy in Small Group》가 있다.
