로버트 J. 배로(지은이)
1944년 미국에서 태어났다. 1965년 캘리포니아 공과대학에서 물리학을 공부하고, 1970년 하버드 대학 경제학 박사를 거쳐 브라운 대학 조교수와 부교수, 시카고 대학 교수, UCLA 교환교수, 로체스터 대학 우수 교수, 스탠포드 대학 후버연구소 연구위원, 하버드 대학 교수, 주요 경제학 논문지 편집위원 등을 지냈다. 현재 하버드 대학 와거너 석좌교수로 재직하고 있으면서, 미국 경제학회 부회장, 미국 경제연구원 연구위원, 후버연구소 원로 연구위원, 로체스터 센터 경제연구소 연구위원, 월 스트리트 저널의 기고가, 부루킹 연구소 원로 자문위원, 몽 페롤랭 소사이어티 회원, 미국 의회 예산청 경제자문위원, 주요 경제학 논문지 편집위원, 한국 포항제철 연구소 연구위원 등으로 활동하고 있다.
