Information on applying for Carrels (personal reading rooms) at the Main Library for the first semester of 2025

The Main Library Carrel is an independent one-person research support space, and users are selected through a drawing among applicants.

Please apply after checking the contents below.

1. Subject to application

A. an instructor at our school

B. Enrolled student (Master/Doctor) of this school

1) Must be registered on the first semester of the 2025 school year, which is that personal’s thesis submission semester.

2) No previously Carrel used history during current course (Master/Doctor)

2. Application document: [Attachment 1] 1 application for Carrel use (photo required)

(Graduate students are omitting the seal from the position of advisor when applying. Resubmission of application with seal for Carrel appliers)

3. Application period: February 3rd, 2025 (Monday) to February 14th, 2025 (Friday)

4. How to submit

A. Complete the application and send an e-mail (to: libsvc@korea.ac.kr )

1) Must be sent to the school portal mail account (-@korea.ac.kr )

2) Mail title: [Carrel application] Name/ status (ex. [Carrel application] library/ master's degree)

5. Selection method: Open drawing (able to observe)

A. Date: February 20th, 2025 (Thursday) 14:00 to 15:00

B. Location: Conference room on the 2nd floor of the Main Library

C. Number of draw: 8 instructors / 8 masters / 8 PhDs

D. Remark: Whether to attend to observe or not is irrelevant to the result of the drawing

6. Announcement of Chosen Person

A. Date and time: February 21th, 2025 (Friday) 12:00 (tentative)

B. Will be contacted to individuals and also be announced at library website

7. Conditions of use of Carrels

A. Hours of use: Operating hours of the Main Library (06:00 to 23:00)

B. Period of use: March 4th, 2025(Tuesday) to August 12th, 2025 (Tuesday)

C. Remark: The operating date, time and using period may be changed depending on the library’s situation
